Review: Ecovacs Deebot T9+Finally, a robot vacuum has something I never knew I wanted: an air fresh
Ecovacs Deebot T9+: The Midrange Model With A New Navigation System, Oscillating Mop, and Air Freshener
If you're in the market for a combination robot vacuum and mop, the Ecovacs Deebot T9+ is a pretty great pick. While it doesn't come with a dock that's as big as its predecessor, the T9+ has updated navigation and a new oscillating mop. Additionally, it comes equipped with an air freshener that might surprise you.
The air freshener is one of the Deebot T9+'s unique features. Though it might seem like a superfluous addition, it's actually quite effective. The T9+ has a subtle air-freshening feature that releases wafts of cucumber and oak scents, making the cleaning process more enjoyable. It's refreshing to know that your floors will be clean and your home will smell great before your guests arrive.
Design and Height
The Deebot T9+ has the standard robot vacuum design, with a white auto-empty tower. It's about 4 inches tall and comes with a plastic plate to make it easier for the vacuum to roll back onto the charging ports at the end of a cleaning job. Though it might not seem necessary, using the plate is important, especially if your vacuum is on hardwood.
Unlike the previous year's model, the Deebot T9+ doesn't have Yiko, Ecovacs' proprietary voice assistant. However, the Ecovacs app is now much easier to navigate. After pairing the vacuum, I was able to accurately map my house on the first run, which took 85 minutes to clean 850 square feet, with about 10 percent battery life remaining.
The T9+ has disposable mopping pads, which are easier to use than reusable pads on other robot vacuums, like the Shark AI Ultra. With disposable pads, you don't have to hand-wash cleaning pads in the sink. Though it's not great for the environment, it's convenient for those times when you need to clean up quickly. The T9+ uses an oscillating mop system that can handle tough messes like flour and sprinkles. However, it takes a while for the water tank to soak through the mopping pad, which can be an annoyance.
The T9+ has TrueDetect 3D 2.0, a navigation system that uses lasers to create a 3D rendering of all the obstacles in your room. While it's effective at detecting some furniture, it may miss others. I found that the dimensions of each room were accurately detected, but some furnishings were missed. Additionally, it took a long time for the water tank to soak through the mopping pad, which is an annoyance.
A Summary of the 9-in-1 upgraded features include:
1. All new mobile Air Freshener experience is more refreshing

Overall, the Deebot T9+ is a great midrange model with useful features like an oscillating mop and an air freshener. Though it may not be as sophisticated as some of the higher-end models, like the iRobot or the Deebot T10 Omni, it's still a good pick for those who want a robot vacuum and mop in one.
